Indianapolis

We went to Indy on Friday and spent the night downtown. We had never stayed downtown before and it was an interesting experience with the kids. We stayed at the Hilton and it was a tad more upscale than we are used to. We walked to Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner and then went to see the horses at the fountain.

This little horse had red sparkly paint on her hooves. It was really cute. Another horse had pink ones.The next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and then headed off to the zoo. Overall it was a good day, wasn't too hot and it wasn't totally crowded. It was a nice zoo but I'm not so sure it was worth what it cost to get in and then all the extras that you had to pay for once you were inside. But it was a good way to spend some time as a family.
There was a man dressed up in a lion's costume doing some promotion for the zoo outside this lioness' cage and she did not appreciate it at all. She was stalking him and it was a bit scary. She was standing as close to the fence as she could and watching his every move. The monkey's were also not happy about the lion man. Some of them were huddled in the corner of their enclosure watching him as well.
This was our favorite part. Here we are petting sharks! They are dog sharks. Jackson (and Jeremy) loved this. You could pet a shark if it came to the surface. We had one little guy who loved to be pet but the others didn't want to be touched. This one would swim the whole length of the tank and bring his head all the way out of the water. This was the best exhibit in the zoo. Plus it was air conditioned, dark and quiet. Little Jeffie fell asleep right when we got inside.

After we left the zoo, we went to Castleton and went shopping for a bit. I didn't realize it but they had an Archiver's. Just what I needed to do! Didn't really find anything outstanding but some cute paper. Once again, when you already own every scrapbooking supply, going to these stores aren't that exciting anymore.

So that was our weekend in a nutshell.
